Food Tour

The best way to start the day is with a cup of coffee. Our first stop will be at one of the famous San Francisco Coffee Shops, serving teas, Italian sodas; known for producing the best cappuccino, see how it is roasted and prepared.

Our next stop is at one of the top ten chocolatiers in the country, in addition to tasting the chocolates you will see how they are made and you will certainly be taking some home with you. Then on to the bakeries, trying numerous things and then exploring the back of the store and seeing how things are made.

Besides all those fattening tastings, we will be tasting local olive oil and several different types of specialty meats.

Architectural Experiences of the Past

San Francisco adopted the Victorian and European look when it came to house designs, and today you will have the opportunity to see some of the over 200 meticulously restored Victorian homes including Queen Anne, Italianate and Stick-Style Victorian Architecture.

Created to foster a better appreciation for Victorian architecture, this tour takes participants off the beaten path and into a variety of neighborhoods including Japantown, Pacific Heights and Cow Hollow (avoiding steep hills).

Regatta/Angel Island/BBQ Lunch

Sailing on San Francisco Bay - guests will be transferred from the hotel to Sausalito, where they will board their Schooner for a cruise to Angel Island…get those sea legs on! Guest will disembark on Angel Island where they will be welcomed by a wonderful BBQ, on picnic tables over looking the bay.

Angel Island is rich in local history. Following many years of Spanish control of the island, it served as both a military base and the site of two government facilities (Quarantine and Immigration Stations) for nearly 100 years starting in the mid-1800s.

Old Barbary Coast

This portion of the West Coast was given its name after the Barbary Coast of North Africa, due to the similarities of pirating and kidnapping experienced during the Gold Rush. The coast became a hub for music and entertainment with its many dance halls, saloons, and clubs. One such establishment, the Old Ship Saloon, entertained years of travelers from 1850’s merchant sailors to GI’s in WWII. Continuing tradition, the San Francisco Brewing Company was established in 1907 and still serves its own hand crafted ale to travelers.

"The Rock" - Its "TIME" for a visit!

The Rock discovered in 1775, was originally a lighthouse, then a U.S. Military disciplinary installation. It was not until 1934 that it became the most famous federal prison in U.S. history. Why? Because Alcatraz was the home to Al Capone, Machine Gun Kelly and Robert Stroud, the Birdman of Alcatraz. The prison was closed by Robert Kennedy in l963 and is now part of the National Park Service.

Today we do not ask you to swim across, we take a scenic ferry ride to the island, where we will offer our custom designed tour.
